When you click Convert to ZIP, the browser-side archive engine extracts regular file entries and the page writes a new ZIP download.
Folders and relative paths are carried into the ZIP entry names. The original RAR stays unchanged on your device. The current MVP does not promise support for password-protected archives, multipart volumes, damaged or incomplete files, or every unusual compression combination. A clear limitation is more useful than a ZIP that looks successful but is empty or incomplete.

The tool is useful for developers, designers, students, support teams, office workers and anyone who receives a RAR file but needs a broadly recognized ZIP archive. It can help when a recipient does not have a RAR utility installed, when a workflow expects .zip, or when you want to create a new shareable container without changing the files inside it.
The site is also designed for people working from a phone or tablet, although large conversions are usually more comfortable on a desktop because available browser memory varies by device. JavaScript and WebAssembly must be enabled for the local archive engine to run.
Privacy-first processing
For the ordinary conversion path, the selected RAR is opened by a local WebAssembly archive engine and the generated ZIP is created as a browser download object. The page does not need an account, email address, upload queue or server-side conversion job to produce the normal output. File contents, names and paths are not intentionally placed in the URL.
Local processing is a practical privacy boundary, not a promise that the browser can handle every archive. Your device, browser extensions and network still matter, and you remain responsible for the files you select.
